The village came together to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day on Saturday, 8th May 2020. The judges were very impressed with the wit, creativity, quality and quantity of entries to the competition. They particularly enjoyed the live scarecrows! It was hard to select winners but, after much deliberation over a celebratory glass of wine, they chose the following:
Winner of the first prize, a hamper: the Women's Land Army representative in Lymbrook Close by Emma Shorter and her family.
Close second, for a bottle of wine (or Spitfire beer?): the witty sailor outside Lymbrook Cottages by Anne and Russell Cherry.
Well done everybody!
